his heart hovers
over the day &
through the night
like a cloud
like the bosom of a clock
waiting to welcome morning
& the morning star shoots forth
like laughter from parted lips.
it comes, fills the sky
with the glory of a new day.

& again he learns
to exalt God for everything.
