The Muse is a journal of critical and creative writing, an annual publication of the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. It is the oldest surviving students’ journal in West Africa, founded by Chinua Achebe in 1963.

The Muse is pleased to announce the editorial board members of the forthcoming 50th edition of its annual publication.

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Iheoma J. Uzomba is a poet, spoken word artiste and critic. She is an editor at The Athena Review. Her poems have been published on Rattle Magazine, The Shore Poetry, Kissing Dynamite, The Rising Phoenix Review, Ake Review, Arts Lounge and elsewhere. She is a winner of the Lagos-London poetry prize, a longlistee of the Poetically-written prose contest and a participant of The Undertow fellowship. Find her on YouTube (here).

Orjichukwu ChikamObi Golding identifies, first, as a quasi-paganic spiritualist. Looking for a definition of greatness, Gospel Okoro believes you can look at him, especially as his Minutes of Memories short story won an award and was shortlisted for Tell! Africa Storyteller Award of the Year. He’s also the recipient of the INKBLED AFRICA Under-30 Impact Awards. His works have appeared at Alewahouse, UpwriteNG, Success Tonies blog, OneBlackBoyLikeThat, Fiery Scribe, and elsewhere. Currently, he serves as a mid-career writing fellow at the Journalism for Liberty Fellowship, Africa. He loves God and books.

A. D. Xavier is a perpetual daydreamer, constantly lost in his world of make-believe. With a rather uncouth worldview on sadness and misery, he adores slow, melancholic music and obsesses over black poetry. Often, he muses over lost love and unrequited affection. Loves to listen to Eminem, Tems, Sia and Adele, as he finds their pieces charming and overwhelmingly poetic.
