Submission Guidelines

Eligibility: From 25th May, 2024, we will begin receiving submissions for The New Voices Prizes! These prizes are open to previously unpublished writers only. This includes all forms of publication, from book publications to literary magazines online and in print.

Submission Categories: We are accepting submissions in two categories: Prose and Poetry.

Submission Guidelines:- Email submissions to: themusenewvoices@gmail.com

– Subject line: The New Voices Prizes: Poetry/Prose Submissions

-Attach your submission as a Word document (DO NOT copy and paste in the body of the email)

-Include a brief cover letter and bio (max 50 words)

Prose Submissions:- Maximum word count: 3,000 words. 

– Formatting: Eb Garamond font, size 11, double-spaced

– Send only one prose work per submission. 

Poetry Submissions:- Maximum lines:30

– Formatting: Eb Garamond font, size 11, single-spaced- Send only one poem per submission.

Important Notes:- Submitors can only submit to one category at a time.

– Longlisted writers will be announced first, followed by a shortlist, and finally the winners from each category will be selected.

– The winners will receive a prize of 10,000 naira each.

Deadline: 11:59 p.m. 25th June, 2024.
